How to operate the RICOH Multipurpose Device
1. In the Login display press “User ID” and write your own AD identity code. Give your four-digit PIN code using the blue number keys and press “Login”.
2. You can also log in using your own AD identity code + password (= the same you use to log in the computer.
Logout:
1. Pressing the grey button (energy saver) on the right of number key 3 you are directly logged out.
2. When being in “Job list” of the scanner key you will find Logout down on the right
Select language:
Log in. Press the little button above Copier (left). Select on top right of screen
“English/Suomi”, “Exit/Poistu”
Select functions:
Log in. On the left you’ll find 4 function keys (starting from top): Copier (all menus of the copying machine), Document server (filed documents of the unit/department), Printer
(follow-up or cancel of print). Scanner key is two-functional. At first press, the display shows Job list; pressed twice it functions as scanner.
Copying:
When starting or stopping ALWAYS press the yellow “delete settings” key, up right next to display (deletes all previous settings). Black & white is the default setting. Each time you wish to make a colour copy, select on top of screen “Auto colour” (prints in colours only the coloured pages of the original) or “Full colour” (every page is printed in 4 colours).
Printing:
Note! All operation options (2-sided, staple, etc.) are made through Printer drive. Default setting is black&white print, select colour option separately each time. Select “Preferences”,
> “Colour”, > “Advanced”, > “Colourmode”, “Auto”.
Two ways to print:
1. Secured print for Ricoh Multipurpose Device: select printer “ma-print.ad.jyu.fi/MA-Secure”. Your job will be in server memory, where it will be stored for a workday. You can choose any Ricoh device around university campuses, log in and select in “Job list” the file you wish to print or print all files at the same time.
2. In computer classes you print directly to printer. Select printer from printer list of the workstation.
Scanning:
(remember to delete scanned files from Ricoh display after your scanning)

Log in to the multiuse equipment by using your user name

Select language by pressing the little button on the left (above COPIER)
Select on top right English/Suomi > Exit/Poistu
Â
Select SCANNER function by pressing twice the scanner key (lowest button on the left)

Select: Search target on the scanner window
Â
Find your own e-mail address either by NAME = your computer user name (for ex. theinone or by your e-mail address (for ex. tuija.heinonen@...), press OK, press Start search (down on the left)

If the device does not find your address, try once more in both ways. Your name may not be found, since the lists covering various e-mail addresses are not complete. In such cases, please contact ADP support person of your department, who will add your name in the list

When your address is found, click to activate and press OK
Â
Place the pages to be scanned on the glass surface or to the feeding head
Â
Various choice items for scanning are to be found on the left
Â
Start scanning by pressing the big green button (the same as for starting copying)
Â
Do not forget to log out after you have finished!
Â
You will receive a message to your e-mail with the name This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Open the message and click along the long blue line (link)
Â
You are asked for user name and password
Username: skannaus. Leave password empty, press log in
Â
The scanned page can be seen small on the display with the options Load PDF or TIFF above it
Â
Click PDF or TIFF to see a larger picture. You may save your work and file it under a given name by clicking the picture (up on the left)

Finish by closing all windows (up on the left)

Note! Always delete all scanned files from Ricoh display after removing them to computer

Note! You may also scan a document to your colleague with the multiuse device, if his/her address is available on the list.
